From Relief to Recovery: LGIS OneWorld Foundation's Continuing Mission for Earthquake-Affected Communities

In the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck Southern Mindanao, LGIS OneWorld Foundation Inc. immediately mobilized its network of volunteers, partners, healthcare professionals, engineers, and community leaders to provide emergency assistance and long-term recovery support to affected communities.
From June 8 to July 6, 2026, the Foundation carried out a series of humanitarian missions across General Santos City, Sarangani Province, and South Cotabato, reaching thousands of individuals through relief operations, rehabilitation efforts, medical assistance, engineering services, and community engagement.

A Roof of Hope: Temporary Shelter Initiative
The Foundation launched its post-earthquake recovery efforts by supporting families in Bulaong, General Santos City through temporary shelter initiatives for those whose homes were damaged by the earthquake.

Recognizing the urgent need for clean water, LGIS OneWorld Foundation provided water pipes to help restore the potable water system in Purok Mauswagon, Maligo, Polomolok, South Cotabato.

Relief goods were transported by sea to affected families in Big Margus, Glan, Sarangani, ensuring that isolated coastal communities received essential food and supplies.

Families in Bulaong, General Santos City received relief assistance while housing recovery efforts continued.
On the same day, volunteer structural engineers conducted site visits and building assessments across Dadiangas East, Dadiangas West, and Lagao, General Santos City to evaluate damaged structures and assist communities in determining building safety.

Serving Hope: Emergency Relief Distribution (Sea Mission)
Two boats transported emergency relief supplies to families in Balut Island, ensuring that remote island communities were not left behind.
Later that day, another convoy of 12 vehicles delivered relief assistance to affected families in Maan, Tboli, Maasim, and Tinoto.
On the same date, the Foundation also conducted “Lifting Fathers: Building Hope for Tomorrow” in Esma, Polomolok, South Cotabato, providing support and encouragement to fathers and families as they rebuilt their lives after the disaster.

As part of its commitment to environmental recovery and disaster resilience, the Foundation organized a bamboo planting activity in Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato.

Compassion in Action: Life Essentials Relief Operation
One of the Foundation’s largest relief missions was conducted in Purok Tanda, Sitio Datal Salvan, Purok 4 Kilolang, and Purok Bagong Silang in Barangay San Jose, General Santos City.
Through the generosity of donors and volunteers, at least 188 families received relief goods packages, safe drinking water, freshly prepared hot meals, and essential medicines, bringing immediate relief to families from the T’boli and Blaan Indigenous communities who had been displaced by the earthquake.

Supporting Communities on the Path to Recovery
The Foundation concluded this phase of its response efforts by meeting with healthcare professionals, engineers, and community leaders at Yumang Street, General Santos City to discuss ongoing rehabilitation initiatives and strengthen partnerships for future recovery programs.

While significant progress has been made, many families continue to face the challenges of rebuilding their homes and restoring their livelihoods.
